Liquid combustion by-products of condensing appliances shall be collected and discharged to an approved plumbing fixture or disposal area in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. Condensate piping shall be of approved corrosion-resistant material and shall not be smaller than the drain connection on the appliance. Such piping shall maintain a minimum slope in the direction ofdischarge ofnot less than one-eighth unit vertical in 12 units horizontal (I-percent slope).

2 Outdoor opening location. 6. 3 Outdoor opening(s) size. The outdoor opening(s) size shall be calculated in accordance with the following: 1. The ratio of interior spaces shall be the available volume of all communicating spaces divided by the required volume. 2. The outdoor size reduction factor shall be one minus the ratio of interior spaces. 3. 6, multiplied by the reduction factor. The minimum dimension of air openings shall be not less than 3 inches (76 mm). 8 Engineered installations.
